Career Services Manager - Boston
Learn More & ApplyMore Than Words (MTW) seeks a Career Services Manager (CSM) who has a strong background in promoting post-secondary and career access for young adults. This full-time position reports to the Director of Career Services and works in partnership with the youth development and social enterprise teams. In addition to working directly with youth, the CSM is responsible forrepresenting MTW to the community and for building and enhancing strong partnerships and collaborations with corporations, educational institutions, and other community partners to generate education and employment opportunities for MTW graduates.

Director of Grants
Learn More & ApplyThe Director of Grants will lead More Than Words in engaging foundation/corporate partners and acquiring and managing government grants and contracts. This position is responsible for approximately $5.5M in revenue across these two funding streams in FY 2027 and meeting annual goals for growth of revenue. A position with a mix of hands-on and leadership responsibilities, the Director will be the organization’s lead grant writer, taking direct ownership of organizing and drafting new or complex proposals, and will lead engagement, cultivation, and prospecting for corporate and foundation stakeholders. The Director will supervise the Grants & Giving Manager who maintains the grants calendar and supports drafting and submitting routine proposals and reports. The Director will also supervise the Senior Government Contracts Manager who manages fee-for-service government contracts and routine government contracting and reporting. This role reports to the Chief Advancement Officer and works closely with CEO as well as the evaluation and finance teams.

You will inspire, hold accountable, and support your team. Previous experience in a retail setting, bookstore, or online industry preferred but not required.

This role creates a welcoming, safe, and organized environment while supporting daily operations and maintaining safety protocols at More Than Words. The position plays a critical role in upholding the organization’s mission to provide a secure, supportive, and positive space for youth development and job training, while also being a key role to maintain safety protocols.
The manager reports to the Boston Site Director.

Volunteer Manager

The Volunteer Manager is an organized and enthusiastic alumnus of More Than Words who engages volunteers to support our mission in many ways. The Manager runs 2-3 group volunteer events weekly, interviews and onboards recurring individual volunteers, stays in regular communication with 30-40 individuals about their weekly schedule, and provides administrative support for the program including managing an active volunteer email inbox.
The Manager reports to the Associate Director of Development, and also assists the department in routine and ad hoc administrative tasks, such as donation processing and event support.

Volunteer Coordinator - Boston

The Volunteer Coordinator is a focused, passionate, and detail-oriented team member who will support the Advancement Department in managing and engaging volunteers to support our mission in many ways. the MTW volunteer program and communicating about the More Than Words mission with supporters. The Volunteer Coordinator reports to the Associate Director of Development and communicates closely with cross-site More Than Words Operations Teams. The Volunteer Coordinator runs 1-3 group volunteer events weekly, manages a schedule of group volunteer events for future weeks, and provides administrative support for the program including managing an active volunteer email inbox. The Coordinator will also support the Associate Director in managing and supporting individual volunteers, including supporting scheduling and outreach. This position will be based out of the Boston site, with occasional off-site events expected with advance notice and planning (transportation support possible for offsite).
