  • Book Donations Manager

    More Than Words (MTW) seeks a Book Donations Manager (DM) to handle pick-up and delivery of donated books, CDs, DVDs and clothing from private homes, businesses, libraries, and community groups on a weekly basis in support of our two youth-run retail and online stores. The ideal candidate is a flexible, hard-working individual who is comfortable driving the MTW truck and/or MTW van in the Boston Metro area. This is a full-time salaried position.     The Grants & Events Manager is an organized and passionate writer who will support the
    Associate Director of Development and the Chief Advancement Officer to achieve the organization’s fundraising goals from corporate, foundation, and government grants. Reporting to the Associate Director of Development, this position is accountable for managing the calendar of deadlines for grants and reports, drafting and revising, collecting materials, and ensuring timely submission. This role will also collaborate closely with the Associate Director on planning and executing a meaningful schedule of fundraising and cultivation events throughout the year.

  • Career Services Manager

    More Than Words seeks a Career Services Manager (CSM) who has a strong background in promoting post-secondary and career access for high-risk youth. This position is responsible for designing and implementing services to support youth to make a successful transition to postsecondary education and/or employment. They will work directly with youth participating in the core programs of MTW, as well as following up and serving youth during a 24-month period following successful completion of the MTW program. During the follow up period, the CSM will
    work with graduates to map out concrete and measurable education and employment plans tosupport youth to achieve their goals, to track their progress and to maintain their engagement with the MTW community.

    More Than Words (MTW) seeks an Associate Director of Events to lead the strategy and
    manage the day-to-day operations of our community events space within our social
    enterprise youth-run bookstore. Reporting to the Director of Business Operations, the
    Associate Director of Events will empower young people and collaborate closely with the Retail team to build the MTW brand and community gathering space, drive sales for MTW sponsored events, and execute a robust venue rental program and marketing strategy.     More Than Words (MTW) seeks an Associate Director of Retail to lead the day-to-day operations and growth of our social enterprise youth run bookstore.  Reporting to the Director of Business Operations, this position partners closely with the MTW events and clothing businesses to support overall earned revenue goals, youth and staff training, and directly supervises 2 adult managers and up to 12 young people.  The Associate Director of Retail ensures a vibrant retail experience for customers that achieves clear financial targets while offering empowering leadership, work, and training opportunities for young people.

    More Than Words (MTW) seeks a Director of Career Services to provide hands-on leadership to our growing Career Services and Pathways Department. The Director of Career Services will lead in building key education and employment pathway partnerships for MTW young adults as they pursue a path to a living wage. The Career Services department is piloting cutting edge funding initiatives to support the economic mobility of MTW Graduates and the Director of Career Services will help develop and lead these new innovations in programming.This position reports to the COO and collaborates closely with Boston and Waltham Site Directors to build pathways for MTW graduates.

MTW AmeriCorps VISTA Service positions are one-year roles that provide extensive opportunity to gain professional development experience in a thriving and growing non-profit. Individuals in these positions are AmeriCorps members who are placed at MTW for their year of service and are eligible to receive many additional benefits including individual health insurance, relocation and/or childcare assistance (if eligible) as well as end-of-service awards.
