Traces the author's struggle to assert her feminist identity as a Jew and her Jewish identity as a feminist. Describes her dismay at discovering antisemitism in the guise of anti-Zionism at international women's conferences, where she was criticized for raising Jewish issues in the women's movement. Pp. 205-228, "Anti-Semitism in the Women's Movement" (first published in "Ms." magazine, June 1982), points to parallels between antisemitism and sexism. The women's movement fails to see these similarities, and Jews are the only minority whose rights it denies. Accuses the movement of accepting antisemitic stereotypes - such as the intellectual New Yorker and especially the Jewish-American Princess (JAP) - and thus fostering self-hate among Jewish women. Discusses stereotypes of Jewish women in American movies. Analyzes Black antisemitism and the need for Jewish and Black women to understand each other's loyalties and act on each other's concerns.
