Over the years, Lonnie Dupre has embarked on many adventures, but none can compare to the 15 months he and fellow explorer John Hoelscher spent kayaking and dog-sleding their way around the unexplored wilderness of Greenland. Filled with photographs, this book tells the story of their dramatic adventure in the endless tundra, coping with wind chills that reach minus 59 degrees and dwindling food supplies and the day-to-day challenges of travelling the country where ice is born. The text also includes sidebars which discuss the culture of Greenland and its schools, villages and transport, and maps are included which illustrate the route travelled by Dupre and Hoelscher.
