Mothers is a belated first: a collection of short stories about motherhood, by writers who are mothers. These twenty stories, each told from a mother's point of view, evoke every stage of the journey, from pregnancy and birth on through the childhood years, adolescence, and adulthood. Together, they depict the complexities of mothering in America today as women are actually experiencing it.
