The Midwife's Revolt

In Braintree, Massachusetts, 1775, Lizzie Boylston says goodbye to her husband Jeb, never to see him again. Instead, she watches his death from the top of Penn's Hill that June 17, the day Charlestown burns. Alongside her are Abigail Adams and her son John Quincy. Three years later, an established midwife, Lizzie returns from her ancestral home in Cambridge to Braintree, where she discovers that two Patriots lodging in the home of Agibail's sister Mary Cranch have died under mysterious circumstances. Searching for the Tory ring that she suspects is behind the murders, Lizzie finds love, friendship, and a killer she would never have suspected.
