A Private War

Lieutenant Colonel Meredith Cleon's new position as provost marshal of Fort Hazelton seems like an easy job. As chief law enforcement officer of this soon-to-be-closed military installation, she expects to have to deal with nothing more challenging than a few petty thefts. In fact, there has already been a report of a truckload of missing office supplies. The quiet of the small post is shattered, however, by the discovery of the brutal murder of a young woman - a general's aide.
The dead woman, Lieutenant Georgia Carnes, is found tied to the back of a target on the rifle range. Who would wish this promising officer such a cruel death? Could it be connected to the rash of racist fliers that have been scattered around the base? Or is the answer buried deep in Cleon's own past?
